Woodrow Station

The Needville Fire Dept.together with concerned citizens of the SouthEast  Fort Bend County. are building a new fire station in the Woodrow Community (located near the intersection of FM 762 & FM 1462- on Jungman Rd.). The new station will be a sub-station of the Needville Fire Dept. Needville Fire Dept. has agreed to provide the equipment, training and day to day operations of the station. The Woodrow Community will provide the land and the building to house the equipment.

Why a Sub-Station?

The current response time for emergency calls in the SouthEast corner of Fort Bend County average 35 minutes. The Needville Fire Dept. would like to reduce that time. The best way to accomplish that would be to create a sub-station and equip it to provide a quick response to fires and other emergencies within the Woodrow Community making a much quicker response.

What can you do to help?

We need Volunteers!  We need to raise funds to build the station. The Pecan Bend Community has donated the land for the building on a site on Jungman Road. It is up to the communities of South East Fort Bend County to raise the money needed to build the building. A committee has been formed to organize fund raisers for the building fund. Please e-mail us at woodrowvfd@consolidated.net if you are interested in helping. There is a Fish Fry scheduled for Saturday July 31st, 2010. This will be the first fundraiser so please come out and support the Needville Fire Dept. Woodrow Station in your community. We need Volunteer Fire Fighters, the communities of SouthEast Fort Bend County are asked to help the Needville Fire Dept. man the Woodrow Station. The new members will be trained and PPE equiped by the Needville Fire dept. To volunteer as a Fire Fighter/ First Responder please contact the Needville Fire Dept.
